In the performance of our activities, we ensure the protection of occupational health and safety of our employees and all stakeholders.

In this approach, the focus is on prevention, from the conception and design stages of the services offered, with safety as a necessary prerequisite for achieving long-term objectives, including:

  • make occupational accidents and rail and terminal accidents zero, through an adequate risk analysis and management methodological approach;
  • ensure the highest level of safety for any activity that may entail risks for employees, as well as for customers, suppliers and the community.

We are continuously striving to provide safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of occupational injuries and illnesses, depending on the specific risks present in the various operating environments.

With this in mind, we are committed to promoting the widest awareness of the most up-to-date skills in the field, so that safety is a common good for all those working in the production units.

The company supports the dissemination and consolidation of a culture of safety that, in compliance with EU, national and regional regulations, including voluntary ones, represent a benchmark for those who work daily in the company, and for those who come into contact with the company from the outside. The pursuit of safety is an absolute priority for our part of the railway system.

Consistent with the Group's safety policy, we are committed to:

  • complying with the relevant safety regulations by ensuring that they are incorporated into the Safety Management System with a non-bureaucratic approach;
  • if other corporate objectives directly or indirectly conflict with the safety objectives, the attainment of the latter must always be pursued;
  • strive for zero accident values, where technically and operationally possible;
  • define indicators that allow for the direct assessment of each hazardous event identified;
  • for each indicator related to hazardous events, define and pursue targets to at least maintain current safety standards;
  • continuously monitor and analyse safety indicators for the purpose of predicting the occurrence of any unexpected or unforeseen conditions;
  • implement all useful actions and initiatives to prevent accidents/hazards, where technically and operationally possible;

  • promote an emphasis on assessment and self-assessment as a basis for highlighting existing and/or potential risks and for planning improvement objectives and actions;
  • actively involve all personnel and their representatives as well as collaborators in the management of safety, with due regard for their specific autonomy and responsibilities, focusing on reports and encouraging their involvement in identifying solutions that are compatible with the necessary operations;
  • create a transparent, correct and motivating working environment, which is deemed essential for the human resources working in the company to actively and consciously operate in the Safety Management System;
  • provide staff and collaborators with high levels of training and refresher courses so that they can work effectively and with full knowledge of potential risks, both in ordinary and emergency operating conditions;

  • cooperate actively and transparently with the relevant bodies, the competent authorities and other organisations involved in the provision of services (customers, suppliers, partners) to improve the safety level of the railway system.

We want to spread and entrench a proper safety culture at all levels, including through a structured analysis of human factors that may have a direct or indirect impact on the performance of the Management System.
